The History of Video Slot Machines

Today's age with slot machines it's so simple to play, or you need to do is place your bet and hit spin or if you feel lazy you can hit the auto spin and the reels will spin away for you. However this was not the case back in the 80’s. Back in the 80’s you had to physically pull the level in order to active the reels and back then they only had 3 reels and not 5 reels which we have today. In 1887 Charles Fey invented a machine with 3 spinning reels and this first slot machine had 5 symbols which were diamonds, hearts, horseshoes, spades and the Liberty Bell, this is where the slot machine got its name from. .The 1st slot machine with the level you had to pull to activate the reels was invited back in 1894 by Bavarian-born American inventor Charles August Fey, who was a mechanic back then.
